What is the astrological significance of an eclipse?

First, consider the Full and New Moons. We get one each of these every month.

The New Moon is the beginning of the waxing phase of the Lunar cycle, or the two weeks when the Moon increases in light. We can use the energy of the increasing light of the Moon to plant seeds, both literally and figuratively. We start new projects, buy new things, make new contacts. Things we start in the world outside during this time tend to grow. Farmers use this time to plant above-ground crops.

A Solar eclipse is a very special New Moon. Things that are begun between the eclipse and the next Full Moon (about 2 weeks), seeds we plant, projects we undertake, contacts we make, and intentions we set, take on added significance 6 months down the road.

The Full Moon is the culmination of the Moon's cycle, and the beginning of the waning phase. During the two weeks following the Full Moon, the Moon decreases in light. This is a good period for working on ourselves, finalizing things, processing information, wrapping up, and letting go of the things we don't need anymore. This is a time for progress in the inner, rather than outer, realm. Farmers often use this time to plant root crops, which grow under the surface of the earth.

A Lunar eclipse is a very special Full Moon. Decisions we make, things we let go of, and things we finish during this waning cycle have significance in the future. It is an excellent time to give up an old habit, for example, smoking.

Full Moons in general, and Lunar eclipses in particular, are times of high emotion, and they bring awareness. The Sun and the Moon, our animus and our emotions, are on opposite sides of the sky, as if the other were a mirror. This is a time of mirroring, we can see ourselves in others if we are willing to look. Many are not.

Your homework assignment, should you choose to accept it:

The Solar Eclipse list

You can do this anytime between the Solar Eclipse and the next Full Moon. Take out a sheet of paper and a pen. Find yourself a nice quiet spot. On the paper, make a list of 100 things you want. Don't hold back! Don't let your inner voice tell you that you can't have it. It will be hard to think of things after the first 50, but keep at it. Be positive: "I will get a raise," not "I want a raise."

Example:

I will make some new friends.
I will have a beach named after me.
I will be my own boss.
I will save the whales.
I will have a new car.
I will have a Xena Warrior Princess doll.
My houseplants will live long and be green.

…and so on.

When you are finished, place your list in an envelope, seal it, write the date on it, and put it in a sacred place in your home. Or you could just bless it and stick it in a drawer. You have just asked for what you want. This is how you plant seeds. After 1 year has passed, take out your list, and see which of these seeds have taken root in your life.

The Lunar Eclipse meditation:

You can do this anytime between the Lunar Eclipse and the next New Moon. Same as the Solar Eclipse list, except this is a little harder. This time, think of the things in your life you would like to bring to a close, finish, or end. That contract you want to get signed, that job you want to finish. That guilty feeling. That unhealthy relationship. That nasty smoking habit.

Take some time to sit in a quiet space and breathe. Visualize the inner workings of that habit, the issue, the situation, as people. Give them names and faces! My addicted smoker and my inner doctor. My gentle self and my angry self. Visualize them each holding one end of a rope, like a tug of war. They can see each other now, how can they better understand one another? How can they work together to achieve balance? Picture each one gently dropping their end of the rope.

You have just asked for assistance from the universe to clear out old energies and make room for the things you want to bring in. There is great power in this request.

Moon Meditation: "Full Moon Eclipse! …"

Life should start feeling quite super-charged now as we head deeper into the eclipse season and towards the end of the year (please note, the eclipse is on December 10 in the Northern Hemisphere but on December 11 in the Southern Hemisphere). This week, we kick off with a Full Moon eclipse in the sign of Gemini. Full Moons are about letting go and moving on – and a Full Moon eclipse is about that times two. To have it taking place at the end of the year is mega – it suggests that if there's anything which has happened in 2011 which you just want to move on from, this is the week to draw a line and step over it. Eclipses can be very tense times, especially Full Moon eclipses because peoples' emotions come to the surface. But it's fair to say that even when what happens at the time of an eclipse is initially hard to handle, it usually proves to be for the best. Eclipses are often about getting us back on track if we've wandered too far from our Life Blueprint – the life path our soul wants to tread in order to evolve as we know our soul needs to. Yes, it's all very deep! Sometimes it's not clear why something is happening, especially in an eclipse season. Try to take things one step at a time.

Full Moon Eclipse, Uranus turns direct – December 10, 2011

The next few days are packed with astrological energy as Uranus makes a station (a standstill) at zero degrees Aries on the same day as a lunar eclipse.

As the planet of sudden change and shocking events, the role of Uranus is to startle us out of complacency and force us into an experience that will break through the shackles of closed-mindedness and attachment to the past. Uranus is the revolutionary, the innovator – it also rules technology and a detachment in which reason takes precedence over emotion.

Planets don't really change direction, obviously, but because we observe their movement from earth they sometimes appear to do so. The outer planets generally spend about half of the year in what we call "retrograde" motion. Planets changing direction operate in a similar fashion to cars that are making a U-turn: before they make that U-turn they slow down, from our vantage point on earth, progressing just a degree or maybe a few minutes of arc each day until they make that change of direction. When a planet slows down to a standstill and makes that "station" its effect is more powerful, rather like a car blowing its horn as it comes to a standstill right outside our home

Uranus is at the zero degree of Aries now, the first degree of the first sign of the zodiac. Symbolically this is a point of initiation and action – something new is being birthed both within us, and in the world around us. Because Uranus is stationary at that degree its energy is focused like a laser beam of intensity, inspiring a desire for change and letting go of the past and whatever is holding us back from venturing forth into a brave new world.

This is the backdrop for the lunar eclipse that occurs on the same day. A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon is Full and the Sun's light opposes the Moon. The Moon represents our emotions, our needs – what we need to feel secure, what we need to feel safe and loved. During a Full Moon our emotional range may be heightened as the solar light of the conscious mind challenges the lunar instincts. An eclipse occurs when the Sun and Moon conjoin the lunar nodes, and because the lunar nodes represent our evolutionary direction there is a fated quality to eclipses and an unmasking of something crucial that is required for our spiritual development.

The emotional realm is murky and hidden in the best of times, and during a lunar eclipse the mysteries of the subterranean realm of the heart become intensified. More magical, yes, but also potentially more frightening if you are a person who tends to hide from emotional matters. This is a Gemini Full Moon, and Gemini desires above all else to communicate. This is not a time to hide your emotions and try to absorb them into the core of your being. This Full Moon requires communication and expression of the emotional realm so that it can be transmitted and transmuted into personal growth.

Gemini is ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication, and Uranus is considered to be the "higher octave" of Mercury in that Mercury rules mind and Uranus rules higher mind. Uranus takes the chatter of our thoughts and converts them to intuition and insight. In the Gemini Full Moon the Sun is in the sign of Sagittarius which is expansive and seeks the One Truth, but the Gemini/Sagittarius polarity requires that we find balance between curiosity and ideology. Even when we think we know what is true (Sagittarius), we must always continue to learn and inquire (Gemini).

This Full Moon will appear huge as it begins to rise and will be colored by the Earth's atmosphere. The beauty and magnitude of this Full Moon reflects the power of this lunation which offers us the potential to see beyond the veil of our ideas and beliefs and to elevate our thoughts beyond the confines of our emotions.

The moon, midheaven and the ascendant are of equal value in describing a life. Often women will project their sun on some man instead of owning their sun, while men will forget that they have anything but the sun.

Moon

The moon represents the emotional side of your existance. It is the unconscious, introverted, negative, female side of yourself. The moon or lunar principle provides a reflective element to your chart, and so it works as a co-equal partner with your sun. Just as the sun and the moon both appear the same size as seen from the earth (which is why solar or lunar eclipses can happen), the sun and the moon are of equal strength in the chart. Often men can project their moon onto some women instead of recognizing that they too have a lunar nature, while women can forgetthat they are anything but the mothering, nuturing moon. The lesson from astrology is that we are all our planets, and achieving wholeness requires that we recognize all of our chart.

Mercury

Mercury represents the concretely intellectual part of your personality, the functioning mind. Mercury represents communication and the day to day activity of the intellect. Mercury rules short-distance communications and learning. Mercury rules both Gemini, where synthesis is the key, and Virgo, where analysis is the key. mercury can indicate the manner in which you think, but not the level of your intelligence.

Venus

Venus can be said to represent "love" and is often paired with Mars in a polarity: The symbol for Venus is the standard biological symbol for female, and the glyph for Mars is the symbol for male. Venus shows are ability at relating to others, and the nature of the desire. Venus can indicate the type of people we are attracted to, or the nature of our sense of attraction. It rules close partnerships and also marriage. Venus is associated with the Descendant of the chart. Venus is the ruler of both Taurus and Libra.

Mars

Mars represents our active energy, the way we go out and get what we want, which can be determined by, amoung other things, Venus. The characteristics of Mars in the birth charts shows the nature of our energy flow. Mars rules both the outer-directed Aries and the inner-directed Scorpio. Mars takes two years to circle the sun, and so we see all faces of mars many times in our life. Mars is considered a "personal" planet, because it tells something about the way we are as individuals.

Jupiter

Jupiter is the first of the so-called "social planets." People born within a one-year period will share the same sign position of Jupiter. This planet show how the socialization process works within us. The urge of the Jupiter principle is to expand; without limits, such as those provided by Saturn, Jupiter would expand without limits, filling the Universe, and, on a more human level, gow fat and expend money without limit. Jupiter rules both Sagittarius and Pisces, lending a religious nature to both signs.

Saturn

Saturn is the second of the two social planets, and it is often paired with Jupiter. Saturn often gets a bad rap as the bogy man of the planets, but it is extremely important. Saturn helps us focus and defnie limits; without Saturn, Jupiter would expand withoout limits (a good Saturn word), whereas without Jupiter, Saturn would contract us to a point. Saturn takes about 30 years to go around the sun, and its positions vis a vis its natal positions represent major turning points in our life. Saturn can also bring a sense of limitation and dispair to our lives. Saturn rules the signs of Capricorn and Aquarius.

Uranus

Uranus is the first of the three transpersonal or generational planets. It moves so slowly -- requiring 84 years to go once around the sun -- that it tells more, unless configured to one of the personal planets or points, about the generation one was born into than the nature of the person. Uranus represents the process of individuation, and can manifest itself as independence, rebellion, revolution or eccentricity. Uranus rules the sign of Aquarius, giving Aquarius the individualistic nature it is known for. Uranus was discovered between the American and French revolutions, certainly good symbols for the Uranian principles.

Neptune

Nepture is another transpersonal planet, taking 168 years to circle the sun. Neptune represents the spiritual or mystical side of ourselves. It is the sensitive planet. At our level of development, Neptune often manifests itself in illusions, vagueness, wooley thinking and the use of drugs such as alcohol. The discovery of Neptune took place at about the same time as the discovery of ether in the rise of spiritualism. Neptune rules Pisces. Even from its name, we can tell that Neptune is a watery planet, and is important in religious people as well as performers.

Pluto

Pluto is the slowest moving of the known planets, taking 248 years to circle the sun, so no one can experience all the sign positions of Pluto. Pluto seems to best represent the different generations, so that we have the "baby-boomer" generation born with Pluto in Leo (1939-1958) and the so called "generation X' born with Pluto in Virgo (1958-1973), as well as yet unamed generations born with Pluto in Libra and Scorpio. In 1996 Pluto moves into Sagittarius, and another generation starts. In natal charts, Pluto can represent deep (and often hidden) forces, changes and transformations. A strong Pluto can lead to obsessive or compulsive behavior, or involvent in occult activities or depth psychology. Pluto rules the sign of Scorpio. Pluto was the only major planet discovered in the XXth Century, and about the time that expreiment laid the basis for the development of the atomic bomb and atomic power.

Node

The North Node of the Moon has several meanings, depending on what school of astrology you follow. In the traditional meanings, the north node refers to a location for intake of the psychic and physical substance you need to maintain life, while the south node is the point where excesses of those substances are expelled. If one node is working well and the other is blocked it can lead to either psychic constipation of lack of nutrition. Both are needed. In the cosmobiological school, the nodes collective refer to a point of contact with those who are close to us, if not necessarily in a physical sense. The word "karma" is sometimes associated with this connection.

Ascendant

The Ascendant -- also called the rising sign -- represents the mask we wear to face the world. Traditionally the ascendant was considered the most important point in the chart, but since it can not be known without an accurate birthtime, the sun became much more prominent. The ascendant -- the point where the sun rises in the east -- represents the defense mechanisms we develop to face a hostile, non-understanding world. It also is how other people first see us, before they come to know us and the various personality forces represented by the planets. Some people tend to identify with their ascendant, forgetting that it is only a facade and not the real person. The ascendant also colors the way we see the outer world, so that two people with different rising signs will experience the same event differently.

Midheaven

The Midheaven represents our true self, that part of us that we can feel observing our mundane activities. The midheaven -- the highest point the sun reaches in its diurnal cycle -- is not given nearly as much attentions as the ascendant, even though it is at least as important, and arguably more important. The midheaven also depends on the time and location of our birth, but unlike the ascendent it does not depend on the latitude. It also represents the individual or ego-consciousness. It has been said that the ascendant represents the ego in the Freudian sense, while the midheaven represents the ego in the Jungian sense. In some ways the midheaven is closer to who we really are than the ascendant. The midheaven - also called the MC for the Latin Midium Coeli which means middle of the sky -- also stands for our career or calling, and how the outside, impersonal world see us. The career is what we do to make a living, while the calling is what we have to do.

Kislev: The Month of Dreams

In the Torah portions read during the month of Kislev, we find most of the dreams mentioned in the Torah. Throughout the five books of the Torah, we find ten explicit dreams (dreamed by seven "dreamers") all in the Book of Genesis. The first dream of Avimelech, King of Gerar, appears in the Torah portion of Vayeira, read in the month of Cheshvan. The other nine dreams appear in the Torah portions of Vayeitzei, Vayeishev, and Mikeitz, all read during the month of Kislev. According to the well-known Torah principle that one should "live with the times" (namely, with the weekly Torah portion), the topic of dreams would be a proper meditative subject during the month of Kislev. During this "month of dreams" one should strive to examine and clarify in one's soul the topic of "the dream," to plumb the depths of its roots in the soul, and to solve its riddle in a good and proper fashion.

Each month is associated with a particular gemstone from among the 12 precious stones embedded in the High Priest's breastplate. The gemstone of Kislev, the ninth month (which corresponds with the nine dreams as mentioned earlier), is the ninth stone of the breastplate?the amethyst (achlama in Hebrew). In his Book of Hebrew Roots, the Radak explains that the root of Achlama is chalam ("dream"), and "whomever wears one (an amethyst) on one's finger will very likely see dreams."

We note that the principal Torah figure connected with dreams?both as dreamer and as dream interpreter--is Joseph the Tzaddik, nicknamed (by his brothers) "the master of dreams." The four dreams preceding those of Joseph--the dream of Avimelech, Jacob's first and second dreams, and the dream of Lavan--were transparent and did not need special dream interpretation. In these dreams, God, or an angel, appears to the dreamer and directly reveals information. In contrast, the final six dreams?the two of Joseph, the two of Pharaoh's ministers, and the two of Pharaoh?require interpretation, having become "enclothed" in the imaginative faculty of the dreamer's soul, and appearing in the form of an allegory and riddle.

Yet, the solution to Joseph's dreams--the prostration of his brothers' sheaves, and the sun, moon and eleven stars to him--is relatively transparent. Without need for interpretation, both his brothers and his father Jacob understood that the meaning of the symbolism of Joseph's dreams was that they were to come and prostrate themselves before Joseph. Jacob wonders saying (Genesis 37:10-11), "Do you want me, your mother, and your brothers to come and prostrate ourselves on the ground to you?" Nevertheless: "his father waited to see the result."

From this it is clear that just as Joseph, "the Tzaddik, foundation of the world," is "an intermediary that connects" the spiritual and physical realms (in the secret of the verse recited in our daily morning prayers: "even everything in heaven and earth"--translated as, "that is in hold of heaven and earth"), he also is "an intermediary that connects" the transparent dreams which do not need solutions and enigmatic dreams which need interpretation (the latter stemming from a higher source, since enigmatic dreams are an expression of God's essence manifested in the ability to sustain paradox, as will be discussed later).

Mental and Physical Health

Another form of the Hebrew root chalam is hachlama, which means "health" in general (both mental and physical) and "recovery" from illness in particular. In thanking God after being sick and recovering, King Chizkiyahu prays (Isaiah 38:16), "restore me [from the root chalam] and make me live." Naturalists have explained that the appearance of a dream in one's soul is similar to the phenomenon of a sick person "sweating" in that sweating is the separation and secretion of waste from what is wholesome. This process is one of the first signs that the sick one is on the path to recovery.

Though, the "separation of waste products" is certainly an important external property of the dream, at a deeper level, the dream serves to reveal in one's soul God's light, providence and will. In general we find that the presence of evil or "waste products" prevents Divine revelation and that the separation from evil elicits Divine revelation, as in the verse (Genesis 12:14), "After Lot left him, God said to Abram." Rashi explains, "as long as the wicked one resided with him, God's word was separated from Abram."

Because of its "healthy" nature, the inner yolk part of the egg is called chelmon (from the root chalam, meaning health or recovery), as in the verse (Job 6:6), "Is there any task in the yolk of an egg" The outer, "white" part is called chelbon, from the root chelev ("fat"), as in the verse (Leviticus 3:3) "The fat that covers the inwards." The yolk reflects the aspect of the "inwards," hinting in the soul to the idea in the verse (Psalms 64:7), "for the inward thought of man, and the heart, is deep." It is at this level that the dream manifests. Similarly, the yolk reflects the level of "light that illuminates to itself" in contrast to the "white" part, representing "the light that illuminates to another." This inner-outer distinction is also noted in the light of the sun itself (the vector force of the light within the core of the sun is directed inwardly). Thus, the dream reflects the inner, hidden light in the soul, the light that shines to itself, which is the source of mental and physical health.

Hebrew Month of Kislev

The Hebrew calendar has two new years and Kislev is the ninth year of the ecclesiastical year and the third of the civil year. It is equivalent to the period of November to December of the Gregorian calendar. Kislev is also known as the month of dreams.

Kislev: Trust and Hope

Unlike the Gregorian calendar that adds one day to the calendar every four years, the Hebrew calendar adds a month with 29 days based on the moon's revolution around the earth. This explains why the Hebrew calendar has 13 months during the leap years. The Hebrew calendar starts the day when the sun sets not when the sun rises as with the Gregorian calendar.

Kislev marks shorter days and longer nights and this has a symbolic meaning for the Hebrews; after the dark, there is light, hence, one must trust and hope. From the context of the Torah or the five books of Moses, several portions of the books mention ten dreams that reveal God's promises if His will is obeyed. Diseases and the threat of death disappear when the dreamer turns to God and repents. These dreams are read during Kislev to mark a period of spiritual self-evaluation and renewal.

The month signals the coming of Hanukah or Festival of Lights which celebrates an event that occurred two hundred years before the Common Era. Accordingly, King Antiochus wanted to convert all the Jews to the Greek religion but the Jews rebelled and were able to drive away the Greek soldiers. The victors wanted to restore the temple but only had enough oil to light the temple for one day. Miraculously the oil lasted eight days giving the people enough time to make new oil.

Kislev Symbol and Sign

If the western world has the Zodiac sign, which has its roots in Babylonian divination, the Hebrew calendar also uses symbology. Kislev is assigned the letter Sameh, which means to support and uphold, which speaks again of trust and hope and the Sameh symbology would be Sagittarius of the Zodiac featuring a centaur with a bow.

The Sameh symbol shows a bowman with a drawn bow with the arrow drawn backwards. It symbolizes trusts that it will fly when released. The lack of trust leads to worries and troubles in one's personal life and even disease. One must trust with his whole heart on the Divine support.

The Essence of Kevlar

Sleep, dream, and trust. These require the believer to rest when weary and to look inwards to assess the inner senses and to trust in Divine Support that spiritual or physical recovery will be his. In everyday life, believers have to do everything appropriate in work and their personal lives to be able to rest mentally and spiritually - which is the meaning behind Kevlar, which paves the way to Hanukah.

From darkness to light. The spiritual sleep plunges one to the depth of the darkness but there is nothing to fear because the light will shine, a manifestation of the Divine's unfailing love and support. The spirit reawakens to renewed spiritual strength.

IN ALL, Michael Savages' shares and cherishes these issues and relates with the sincerity and a concealed purity of both a traditional common folk, and of their equality, and with with the scholarly elite as well as the abstract assurtaining ploy as the most astounded or astute could imagine, to display in his epilogue ,or delivery of his messages, as "on the level of", a leader or leadership, or a dignitary or diplomat, ; and as keen to that abstract might seem to be perceived, or not; the emphasis is on ; the presence, is off, and threfore his study reflects in his presentations to what value tthis may be traditionaly or to what new nature sidelines in deeds of moral or morale, and emotion to the kindness; along these lines are struggles of supremacy(his opinion reflcts his education and study,), and optimism, mixed with his encouragement, and likeliness therfore concidering his opinions.

Nominating someone for an honour

The honours system recognises people of outstanding merit, and those who have committed themselves to service to the nation. It's been around for centuries, but it was a closed system for many years. Only since 1993 has everybody been free to nominate.

Who can be nominated?

Anyone can be nominated, but only exceptional people are honoured. If you want to see your candidate on the honours list, make sure your nomination has what it takes to make it all the way to Buckingham Palace. Achievement comes in many forms but honours committees are looking for someone who has made a difference in their field of work or community.

Honours can be awarded for all sorts of work - paid or unpaid - but your nominee must still be involved in the activity for which they are nominated.

Before you make your nomination, ask yourself the following questions. Has your nominee:

made a difference to their community or field of work?
brought distinction to British life and enhanced its reputation?
exemplified the best sustained and selfless voluntary service?
demonstrated innovation and entrepreneurship?
carried the respect of their peers?
changed things, with an emphasis on achievement?
improved the lot of those less able to help themselves?
displayed moral courage and vision in making and delivering tough choices?

What happens to a nomination

Nominations are collated and then segregated according to the nominee's area of expertise. Expert committees can then compare like with like - for instance, teacher with teacher - and the best candidates are put forward to the Prime Minister, who then presents the list to The Queen.

Which order?

The committee considers the appropriate order and level. There is no need to specify this in any nomination. Note that:

senior civil servants and military officers may be considered for the Order of the Bath
diplomats and others serving the UK abroad may be considered for the Order of St Michael and St George
anyone may be considered for awards in the Order of the British Empire
anyone may be considered for the award of Companion of Honour

Which level?

Once the Order has been identified the criteria below are used by committees for deciding the level of award. The assessment committees also use precedent to aid their consideration.

Companion of Honour

A pre-eminent and sustained contribution in the arts, science, medicine, or government.

Knight/Dame

Awarded for a pre-eminent contribution in any field of activity, through:

achievement or service to the community usually, but not exclusively, at national level
in a capacity which will be recognised by peer groups as inspirational and significant nationally and
which demonstrates sustained commitment

CBE

Awarded for:

a prominent national role of a lesser degree or
a conspicuous leading role in regional affairs, through achievement or service to the community or
making a highly distinguished, innovative contribution in his or her area of activity

OBE

Awarded for:

a distinguished regional or country-wide role in any field
through achievement or service to the community
including notable practitioners known nationally

MBE

Awarded for:

achievement or service in and to the community of a responsible kind which is outstanding in its field or
local 'hands-on' service which stands out as an example to others

In all cases awards illuminate areas of dedicated service which merit public recognition.

The decision

If selected, candidates are sent a letter asking them whether they would be willing to accept an Honour. Almost everyone does and their names will appear in The London Gazette at the New Year or on The Queen's official birthday in June.

3. The Great Wheel and Spiritual Unfoldment

Before I give you the remaining part of the chart which deals with the constellations as conductors of cosmic energies or as transmitters of their own energy, I would like to remark that much that I shall say will be based upon:

The wheel of life and the path of man, the human being, as he passes through the signs according to the mode recognized by orthodox astrology. He, as well as the planets, apparently retrogrades through the signs and appears to pass through the constellations from Aries to Taurus. But this is all part of the Great Illusion.
The wheel of life and the path of man, the divine or spiritual soul, as he passes through the signs of the zodiac according to the mode studied by the esoteric astrologer. This is the Path of Reality as the other is the Path of Illusion. This carries the disciple around the path from commencement in Aries to consummation in Pisces.

The present method is based upon the temporary truth that ordinary man is subject to the illusory nature of manifestation and "as he thinks, so is he." When, however, he becomes Hercules, the Sun God (or solar Angel), he begins to reverse the process (again only apparently) and a definite reorientation takes place. The Teachers on the [59] inner side, therefore, study the horoscope only in its relation to the following three entities:

The horoscope of the planet itself as the expression of the life of the planetary Logos. This involves the studying of the horoscope of the spirit of the planet as well as of the informing Life and their joint relationship and interplay. The spirit of the Earth is to the planetary Logos of the Earth, for instance, what the personality (or form nature) is to the soul of man. The two horoscopes are superimposed and the "planetary pattern" then emerges.
The horoscope of the human family, of the fourth kingdom in nature, regarding it as an entity, which it essentially is. This is in reality the study of two horoscopes, as in the above case; the horoscope of the kingdom of souls, of the divine sons of God upon the mental plane, and the study of the entity which is the coherent life of the form side of the fourth kingdom in nature. This is again done by superimposing the two charts. These charts are drawn on a large scale and on a transparent material of which humanity knows nothing. Upon these charts are noted the pattern which emerges when "soul and personality are brought together" and present conditions, possible developments and relationships, and the immediate future objective appear with clarity.
The horoscopes of disciples. The Masters do not study the charts of ordinary undeveloped man. There is no profit in so doing. This involves again the study of the two horoscopes of the disciple under inspection - one of the soul and the other of the personality. Again the process of superimposition is utilized. In one horoscope, [60] the new orientation and the embryonic reorganized inner life will be noted and studied, and in the other the outer life and its conformity or nonconformity to inner conditions will be the subject of attention. Thus the life pattern will emerge, possibilities will be indicated, problems will disappear, and the immediate next step will clearly show forth.

It thus becomes apparent again to what an extent the "principle of duality" enters into everything. It is a shifting dualism, according to where the emphasis may be placed, but this dualism is present until the last and final initiation - present in the later stages of the evolutionary process, in the adjustment of form relations but not present in the consciousness of the disciple of advanced degree. That is the major point to be grasped.
